The men's national training camp is scheduled to start this month at Sonepat in Haryana. Selected wrestlers reported to the Sai Center on September 1. According to the protocol, RT-PCR tests were conducted on them. Deepak, Naveen, and Krishnan were found to be corona positive. Sai said they were rushed to the hospital as a precautionary measure. Three senior wrestlers were found to have a corona. They were immediately rushed to Sai Hospital. Two days later they perform another corona test. If it turns out to be negative, we will bring them back to the camp, ”said Vinod Tomar, Assistant Secretary, Wrestling Federation of India (WFI). He made it clear that the camp would not be canceled as long as the wrestlers knew they had a corona.

The three wrestlers are currently in good health and the training camp will begin as soon as the 14-day quarantine is over, Vinod Tomar said. Poonia, who competes in the 86 kg category, has already won a berth at the Tokyo Olympics. Another Indian wrestler, Vinesh Foghat, who had a chance to play in the Tokyo Olympics, recently came to Corona and dropped out.
