Almost 26 years later, a German player enters the US Open final. Alexander Zverev of Germany had a spectacular victory over Carlo Boston of Spain in the semi-finals on Friday in New York. In the women's singles semifinals on Friday, Victoria Azarenka (Belarus) defeated six-time champion, Moodoseed Serena Williams 1-6, 6-3, 6-3. Serenade was the beginning of this struggle. Williams, 39, broke the deadlock with an easy 6-1 victory in the first set. But from the second set, Azarenka recovered greatly. Serena faltered exceptionally. Naomi Osaka advanced to the final.
