The women's singles at the US Open Grand Slam tennis tournament was a sensation. Czech Republic star, top seed Carolina Pliskova went home in the second round. World No. 50 Carolina Garcia won a sensational 6-1, 7-6 (7/2) victory over Pliskova. Garcia dominated from the start of the match, winning a series of games, turning Pliskova into an anonymous player.

Garcia scored points with fast service and strong forehand shots. It went down 5-0 while watching. After that, Pliskova broke the opponent's serve and won the game. Garcia returned with strong shots and won the next game and won the set. She continued her momentum in the second set and went on to win 4-2 at one stage. Pliskova bounced back at that stage .. won three games in a row and took the lead. But Garcia fought back and tied the score at 6-6. Garcia won the match in a tiebreaker. Garcia hit three aces and 30 winners in this match.

Tenth seed Muguruza (Spain) also lost in the second round. Muguruza lost 5-7, 3-6 to Pironkova (Bulgaria). Fourth seed Naomi Osaka (Japan) advanced to the third round. She defeated Giorgi (Italy) 6-1, 6-2 in straight sets. In the other match, 18th seed Vekic (Croatia) defeated Patrick Maria 6-2, 6-1. Jaber‌, Sakari advanced to the third round.

In the men's singles, top seed Novak Djokovic (Serbia) put in an easy lead despite some effort. In the second round, he defeated Edmund (UK) 6-7 (5/7), 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 in the first set against Djokovic. That set led to a tiebreaker as the two clashed head to head. Edmund won the set 7-5 in a tiebreaker. But Djokovic bounced back after that .. winning three sets in a row and owning the match.

Elsewhere, fourth seed Tsitsipas (Britain) 7-6 (7-2), 6-3, 6-4 over Cressie (USA), while fifth seed Zverev (Germany) 7-5, 6-7 (8/10), 6 Seventh seed Goffin (Belgium) defeated Nakashima (USA) 7-6 (8/6), 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 in a 3-3, 6-1 victory over Harris (South Africa). Shapovalov (Canada), Korich (Croatia) also took the lead.
