RAINA AND HARBHAJAN WILL NO LONGER TO PARTICIPATE IN 2021
It looks like Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh's affiliation with the Chennai franchise has come to a permanent end. It seems that the two of them have no chance of representing that team before.
It is learned that the franchise, which has already removed their names from their official website, has also started the process of terminating their contracts. League sources say the measures are being taken in accordance with the rules.
According to the 2018 auction guidelines, Chennai has signed Raina and Bhajji for a period of three years. Accordingly, the contract expires with the 2020 season. They both refused to play in the league this year for personal reasons. It is learned that the ownership process has started to formally terminate the contracts with them as per the regulations. The N Srinivasan-led franchise has signed deals with Raina for Rs 11 crore a year and Bhajji for Rs 2 crore a year. Hearing that there is no playing in this season so there is no money to be paid in it.
Raina, who had set up camp in Chepauk, came there and practiced. He has also been with the team in Dubai for some years. Whether or not the franchise pays the wages for those days! It is learned that the franchise has made it a condition to give money only if the matches are played. However, the season ends on November 10. The 14th season will start again in April 2021. Even then it is not known whether India will host the league. It is not clear whether the BCCI will hold an auction for players in the wake of the Corona Thirty. According to league sources, it will be difficult to see Raina and Bhajji on the field next year.
