At a time when anti-China sentiment in the country is rising day by day, Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi has taken a crucial decision. It also hopes to expand its sales to remote areas of the country. It was against this backdrop that MIstore on Wheels embarked on a new program. Thereby planning to reach out to rural Indian consumers. Xiaomi Traveling Store, the top brand in smartphone sales in the country, has launched. This means that Xiaomi Santa manages to reach out to the villagers by stopping at specific places and selling their products at weekend fairs and festivals. In addition to smartphones, the company will sell smart TVs, CCTV cameras, earphones, sunglasses, and power banks, Xiaomi said in a statement on Monday.

Xiaomi India CMD Manu Kumar Jain said that they are happy to launch "MI Store-on-Wheels". He tweeted that they are bringing the retail experience closer to the villagers through the Moving Store. He also thanked his offline team for completing the project in just 40 days. In another tweet, Jain revealed that they are 100 percent committed to Madin India products. Their goal is to make all products in India. "Make in India, Make for Indians, Made by Indians," he tweeted.

MI India COO Muralikrishnan said their store-on-wheel outlets are completely safe during the current Corona. Having the largest single-brand retail network, they said the new venture would reach out to remote areas of the country. Xiaomi topped smartphone sales in the June quarter, despite setbacks such as the corona crisis, lockdowns, Indo-China border tensions, and a ban on Chinese products.
