SINGAPORE AIRLINES LAID OFF 4300 EMPLOYEES | 2020
Singapore Airlines Ltd., which has been hit hard by a pandemic corona, has recently slashed jobs. A total of 4,300 employees were laid off on Thursday. This is 20 percent of the total airline staff, company officials said. The decision was taken in order to reduce the financial burden on the airline, which was hit hard by the corona. It also said it would implement voluntary retirement schemes to help it recover from the disaster. The airline says it could lay off about 2,400 employees at Singapore and overseas stations combined.
So far, the corona epidemic has affected 57,229 people in Singapore. Of these, 56,492 recovered and were discharged from the hospital. There are currently 710 active cases in the country. Kovid has already skinned 27 people across the country.
