SENSEX CROSSED 39000 MARK | 2020


The domestic stock market ended with gains for the second day in a row this week. Domestic stock markets remained at a record high, mainly on demand from private banks and pharma giants.


With this, the Sensex crossed the 39,000 point milestone. However, the Nifty has crossed the technically crucial 11,500 level. The Sensex finally gained 288 points to close at 39,044, despite the usual tides in Ding. The Nifty also gained 82 points to 11,522. However, the Sensex fell below an intraday low of 38,754. The Nifty traded lower at 11,442.


On the NSE, mainly pharma and private banks gained 2 percent. IT gained 0.6 percent. Realty and media traded down 0.7-0.4 percent. Among the Nifty giants, IndusIndia, Cipla, UPL, Axis, Airtel, ICICI, Bajaj Finance, Sun Pharma, Dr. Reddy's, Kotak Mahindra, Grasim, HDFC Bank, HDFC, and RILG are up 5-1 percent.


However, Titan, Maruti, HDFC Life, Eicher, ITC, BPCL, Asian Paints, Coal India, Bajaj Auto, IOC, and HCL Tech slipped between 1.4-0.4 percent.
